Arc'teryx

A self-initiated outdoor spec campaign created by Zain Hussain, Tom Buhler and Ari Jhangiani.

Overview

This Arc'teryx project was a self-initiated spec campaign shot around a lone hiker moving through the forest. Zain handled cinematography, Tom handled the edit and sound, and I worked alongside Tom on the colour.

I was the secondary colourist on this project, so my role was less about building the entire look from scratch and more about working within an existing direction — helping match shots, refine parts of the grade and keep the footage feeling consistent across the film.

Most of the imagery was already heavily driven by the location itself, so there wasn't much reason to fight that. The greens, softer daylight and darker clothing gave us most of what we needed naturally.

The final film

This project was a different grading experience for me because I wasn't the sole colourist. It was much more about contributing to somebody else's established direction, matching into what was already working and knowing when a shot needed adjustment versus when it was better left alone.
